Teaching with Déwang Pamo & Trak'thung Dorje

The series of evening talks will explore Tibetan history, from the first traces of human habitation and clan-based societies on the Tibetan plateau to the rise and fall of the Tibetan empire and the unified Tibetan state.

Starting with myths of origin, we shall delve into the rich cultural and religious heritage that continues to define Tibet today, focusing on the profound influence of Buddhism and the formation of the various schools of Tibetan Buddhism.

The exploration of Tibet's religious history will be intertwined with the given social and political context. During our discussion, we will highlight key moments and significant periods throughout the centuries, from the early and later dissemination of the Dharma in the 8th and 11th centuries up to the present day.

The class will be taught in English and will take place every Wednesday evening, 6:00-7:00 p.m. (German time) via Zoom.
