It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing into parinirvana of Jomo Sam‘phel Déchen Rinpoche today at 9.30 GMT. She was the wife and Sangyum of Kyabjé Künzang Dorje Rinpoche. She was a disciple of Kyabjé Düd’jom Rinpoche Jig’drèl Yeshé Dorje and a devoted practitioner of the Düd‘jom gTér. She completed many retreats in her life — and since the parinirvana of Kyabjé Künzang Dorje Rinpoche has spent her life in retreat.
Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen just wrote:
‘Jomo Sam‘phel Déchen Rinpoche was a great inspiration to us. After the parinirvana of Kyabjé Künzang Dorje Rinpoche — she manifested very much as a dPa’mo and had a profound effect on all our students who were fortunate enough to visit her. We wish to thank Lama Tamchö Rinpoche and Lama Tséring. We wish to thank those who cared for her — especially Kèlsang (in whose house Jomo Sam‘phel Déchen Rinpoche lived), Drölma and Norbu.
Jomo Sam‘phel Déchen Rinpoche is now in thugdam. A great light has left the world.’
