Below is a small collection of Aro gTér (A ro gTer / ཨ་རོ་གྟེར་) Lineage thangkas. These are thangkas of the lineage of Khyungchen Aro Lingma (khyung chen A ro gLing ma / ཁྱུང་ཆེན་ཨ་རོ་གཉལིང་མ་ / 1886–1923). They range in age from the late 1970s up to the present day. Some were painted by Kumar Lama — a friend of Lama Tharchin Rinpoche, Ngak’chang Rinpoche, and Khandro Déchen.
The styles vary considerably. Some were painted by novice thangka painters — and some, by highly accomplished artists such as Kumar Lama and Khandro Déchen. It is hoped that over the next decade — all the lineage Lamas will be painted.
